Verksmiðjan Hjalteyri Iceland
03.07-26.07. 2015
Nowhere else is an exhibition curated by Sirra Sigrún Sigurðardóttir. The exhibition contains works by eight international artists and one biologists. The title of the show is a reference to one of the most influential pictures in human history, “The Pale blue dot”. The dot was photographed by the spaceship Voyager 1 travelling around the galaxy. After the picture was published Carl Sagan wrote aninfluential text about it where he explains that no other planet can sustain human life. To earth our being is limited
The artists address with their works the idea of us and humanity in time and space, with the “Pale blue dot” as a starter point.
